Atlantis eSports won the Iberian Cup following a 2-0 victory over k1ck eSports Club in the final (16-10 on de_cache and 16-8 on de_dust2.
Eight teams from Spain and Portugal faced off in the first edition of the Iberian Cup, a €1,500 online tournament hosted by xfunction.
With x6tence nowhere to be seen as the Spanish giants declined to take part in the tournament because of a scheduling conflict with other competitions, the final was, as expected, contested between k1ck and Atlantis, both of whom reached the title decider without too much trouble.
The final ended up being a one-way street, however, as Atlantis, powered by a great display from Óscar "mixwell" Cañellas, eased past k1ck on two maps following 16-10 and 16-8 wins on de_cache and de_dust2, respectively.
Iberian Cup final standings:
1. Atlantis - €900
2. k1ck - €400
3. xfunction - €200
The victory in this cup will certainly come as a huge boost of motivation for the former gBots team, who will attend Copenhagen Games next month.
