ESWC Central qualifier in Warsaw

CSGames.pl has announced that it will host the Central European qualifier for ESWC 2015.

The Multikino Cinema, located at the Złote Tarasy commercial complex, in the centre of Warsaw, will stage from June 19-21 an offline qualifier for ESWC Montreal open to teams from Central and Southern Europe.

Eight teams will be competing in this tournament, six of whom will be invited by CSGames.pl, the organiser of the qualifier. The remaining two spots will be filled through an open online qualifier, to be held from June 4-16.

The winner of the Warsaw qualifier will secure a spot at ESWC 2015, to be held from July 9-12 in Montreal, where $75,000 will be up for grabs.

Polish duo Virtus.pro and Gamers2, Team Kinguin, x6tence and PENTA Sports have all been handed invitations to the offline qualifier. The sixth and final wildcard will be revealed in the coming weeks.

The inclusion of Team Kinguin in the list of participants for the event is a surprise, given that the majority of their roster come from Northern Europe, which will have its own qualifier, hosted by Lionsek. Only Adil "ScreaM" Benrlitom and Ricardo "fox" Pacheco hail from countries that are eligible to take part in this tournament.

The following five teams have confirmed their attendance at the event:

 Virtus.pro  Gamers2
 Team Kinguin  x6tence
 PENTA Sports

Teams can sign up for the online pre-qualifier, which will use a single-elimination, best-of-three system until the Round of 32 and a double-elimination, best-of-three format thereafter, from May 31 to June 6 on CSGames.pl's website. All registered teams need to have at least four players from the following countries to take part in this tournament:

 Poland  Germany
 Czech Republic  Slovakia
 Austria  Hungary
 Belgium  Netherlands
 Bulgaria  Romania
 Croatia  Switzerland
 Spain  Portugal
 Italy  United Kingdom
 Ireland  Slovenia
