Nihilum officially sign SEMPHIS

Nihilum Gaming have now confirmed the signing of former Cloud9 member Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen to their starting lineup.

Following the appearance of former Cloud9 player Kory "SEMPHIS" Friesen on Nihilum's CEVO roster last night, it began to be widely expected that Friesen would be permanently moving into the organisation's fold.

This belief was further cemented by a Tweet from departing playerKyle "flowsicK" Mendez, which indicated likewise. And yesterday, we saw the Canadian Friesen in action against CLG in a much different role to his previous in-game role in Cloud9.

Nihilum have now officially announced the signing of Friesen, reporting that they were able to smoothly acquire the player from Cloud9 without issue. Additionally, Nihilum revealed that the replaced Mendez has been released from his contract and is now a free agent on the market.

In a statement to ESEA News, team captain Soham "valens" Chowdhury had this to say:

"We are thrilled to bring Kory on board to round out our roster. I’ve personally known Kory for many years, and beyond being the encyclopedia of CS, he’s a great personality out of the game. This change will stabilize our roles and bring much needed experience playing against international competition. Shoutout to flowsicK for being an impeccable teammate—he truly went above and beyond to ensure our team’s success," Chowdhury said.
